I’m so sorry that I’ve been slacking regarding this site. I have set a New Year’s Resolution to work on the site a fixed amount each week. I PROMISE that more state meet results will be posted. —Joan

Feel free to start with the A/B Boys 1982 and 1983 State Meet Results:) Just kidding, but on a serious note thank you for all that you do. I have followed your results since I was a freshman in high school back in 1980. My teammates and I would anxiously await the weekly news letters everyweek. Our coach would staple them up on the wall and we would always gather around to see if we made the weekly list of top times. Thank you to you and Scott for keeping the history of Washington State Track alive!!
Hi Joan I couldn’t find another way to send a message) , I was looking at previous State Champions and I noticed 1980 champions ran the “2 mile” and “mile” but some events those years are listed as metric events. As a freshman at NC in 1980 we ran metric events and am pretty sure that’s was the first year of running metric events. Did they run mile and 2-mile just at State?

The only metric races at the AAA state meet in 1980 were the 100, 200, 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles. All other events were yards.
Joan,
Thanks for compiling all of this data!
Would you like some help updating the archives?
My motivation is to see AA Boys from 91-93, but I’d be able to help with others as well.

It’s finally there. Thank you for your offer, though!
I would love to see the results of 1991-1993 state track meets for smaller schools such as 1B/2B
